2023 Ram 1500 Redesign, Hybrid and Truck News. The forthcoming 2023 Ram 1500 is a model that will continue to dominate its segment, along with the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado 1500. The manufacturer will deliver a couple of improvements for 2022MY. However, the changes are not so dramatic. On the other hand, Ford is working on the F-150 Electric model and it already offers a hybrid version. As for the Ram 1500, this model will also offer a hybrid powertrain, but the all-electric variant is still at least two years away.
Luckily, Ram released its TRX version that offers astonishing power. This model is an off-road high-performance variant that generates over 700 horsepower. As for the regular Ram 1500, this model will continue to offer both gasoline and diesel powertrain options. The sales will begin in the second half of 2021 and the price will probably increase, but not drastically.
Gasoline, Diesel and Hybrid Powertrain Options
As we already wrote, this model offers both gasoline and diesel engines. Moreover, the 2023 Ram 1500 will feature a hybrid powertrain option as well. However, Ford is about to introduce an all-electric F-150, so it seems like the Blue Oval is winning this race. As for the Ram 1500, a 3.6-liter gasoline unit is once again offered as standard. It can produce up to 305 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque. An optional and larger 5.7-liter Hemi engine is also on offer.
This potent V8 variant delivers 395 hp and 310 lb-ft of twisting power. Ram continues to offer its EcoDiesel engine with 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to that, Ram 1500 Diesel can tow up to 12,560 pounds. The hybrid variant combines a 3.6-liter V6 engine with Ram’s e-Torque system. It is a mild-hybrid setup that enhances fuel economy and it generates 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque.
Ram 1500 Looks Refreshed
The all-new 2023 Ram 1500 wears a relatively new design that was introduced in 2023. Since then, we are looking at mid-cycle refreshments and a new model will be no different. This means the pickup truck will arrive without drastic changes and upgrades. For a start, the front part wears the same grille and slimmer headlamps.
The headlights can be had with halogen, LED, and adaptive LED lighting setups. The rear part is mostly a carryover, just like the side profile. We hope to see new optional features or new exterior paints. As for the Ram 1500 TRX, this model is wider and it looks more aggressive. On top of that, it offers more ground clearance, plenty of off-road equipment, and slightly different bodywork.
Interior Comes With Minor Updates
The cabin upgrades are once again, far from significant. The approaching 2023 Ram 1500 offers one of the best interiors in the segment. For that reason, the latest updates will do just enough to keep the pickup competitive. Everything on the inside looks modern and upright and Ram 1500 offers a lot of standard features. Numerous trim levels and cab setups are offering plenty of customization.
Amenities such as rearview camera, power-adjustable mirrors, trailer-sway control are all offered as standard. If you want more luxury, upper trim levels are available with leather upholstery, sunroof, and much more. The big news for 2022MY is the next-generation Uconnect5 infotainment system. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
2023 Ram 1500 Price, Release Date
Once again, the price of the 2023 Ram 1500 will probably start at about $30k. As for the hybrid version, this model will become available for an additional $5,000. Ram will launch its new model in the second half of 2021 and we can’t wait to see it on the roads.
