2023 Chevy Silverado EV Redesign, Specs, and Price. The forthcoming 2023 Chevy Silverado EV now looks like a great possibility. The latest images are showing a prototype of the full-size truck, possibly a Silverado model with an all-electric powertrain. According to the latest reports, this model is happening for sure. At this point, we know almost nothing about it.
However, GM already said the Chevrolet will get an electric pickup truck in the near future. Whatsoever, this model will arrive after the GMC Hummer EV. Now that Ford officially confirmed its F-150 Electric, the Silverado EV model is just a matter of time. On the other hand, we will probably have to wait a little more to get more details about it. Until that happens, here’s everything we know so far.
Driving Range, Platform
At this point, we know that the 2023 Chevy Silverado EV will share a platform with Hummer. It is the GM BT1 architecture, so Silverado electric will also deploy the same Ultium battery system. This battery pack will provide up to 400 miles on a single charge, according to General Motors. As for the performance, Silverado EV will offer astonishing acceleration. This truck will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in around 3.0 seconds.
The base trim level will offer around 250 miles of driving range on a single charge. But as we said, the range-topping trim will surely offer up to 400 miles. More info will become available in the coming months. We expect for Silverado EV to become official after the launch of the GMC Hummer EV.
2023 Silverado EV Design
This week, GM participated in the 2023 Barclays Global Automotive Conference. The manufacturer teased us with its future electric vehicles. Some of them will arrive by 2025. The 2023 Chevy Silverado is a different story. This model could arrive at some point in 2023. General Motors used this model as a background prop at the conference. From what we saw, it is a full-size pickup truck with a polygonal body style. The front part comes with minimal sculpting so it is not how the Silverado looks like.
GM already said the future Silverado EV won’t look like its gasoline-powered sibling. This model will look different and closer to the Hummer EV. As for this teaser image, Silverado comes with a sleeker front end and it comes without a traditional grille. The bowtie badge is visible too and the side profile looks classy, like the Avalanche model.
2023 Chevy Silverado EV Release Date
According to the first reports, the new 2023 Chevy Silverado EV will be launched by mid-2023. The price is not available yet, like many other details. Whatsoever, we don’t even know if this truck will arrive under the “Silverado” nameplate. It could be a model based on Silverado and GMC Hummer, but with a completely new name. The biggest competitor will be the brand-new Ford F-150 Electric.
